Tragic, thoughts go out to the loved ones left behind....
A reminder if one was needed that, this route is very dangerous, and shouldn't be underestimated. Seems strange that people on this very thread seemed to recommend it as almost a walk in the park, when it is anything but that ...
As has been said, our thoughts go out to those left behind.
It has been very wet in the Lakes in the last 6 days; if you are not an expert climber Jack's Rake should be avoided unless it is dry. The problem is that once you have properly started, retreat is almost impossible, and before you know it you are on slippery rocks and in real trouble. The same applies to Sharp Edge on Blencathra. Please take care out there.
Sad news, thoughts go out to family and friends, as Mike T says, take care out there. Stay safe and leave the dangerous stuff for a dry day.

Dreadful news. A mate of mine from Dallam was out in Langdale on Wednesday and saw the MR response. I don't think I'll be venturing up there again in a hurry.
