    Irish British Champs race

    Hi
Trying to organise travelling to Northern Ireland for the British Champs - have looked at Flybe from manchester and Jet2 from Leeds but these seem to be double the price of last years flights. Has anyone got any advise on getting there, including ferries. There are 5 of us and counting at the moment.

Liverpool is the choice of most of Calder Valley. Loads of Easy jet flights to Belfast Int.
We have paid £23 each way.
Also on site parking is good and secure and the airport is easy to find and only 20 minutes longer to get too than Manc's.

Hope this helps and see you there.

Just went over a few weeks ago for the Antrim Cross Challenge on Stena from Cairnryan (Stranraer) to Belfast.

Having also flown, I think the ferry gets you there in better shape to run and you can take your car full of passengers with as much luggage as you want for around the same as flying.
The Liverpool Airport Options seemed cheaper with the headline price, but put all the extra charges on - car parking, hold luggage, taxis or car hire at the other end and the ferry just edged it.

1 tip if you do this, upgrade to the lounge access - not much more and worth it as you get free drinks, snacks and it's quite and comfortable, plus the option to change ferries without penalty charge.

Last time I went with CV we had the 'pleasure' of bumping into the late Frank Carson at Belfast airport . One of the Calder Valley lads was starstruck . I'll spare his blushes and not name him !
