Mudclaws don't have a fascia band either. I mis=typed this "fascia bane", which shows my dislike of this feature, which IMO serves only to trap small stones & mud.

Correct, Roclite 295's have the 'fascia band', Mudclaw 330's have the 'meta shank'. All 'features' which I don't really care about.

collected new shoes the grip looks amazing
they weigh in at 343 g for a size8.5 they are wider
than mud claw 330 and sit a little higher up the
and are perhaps more of a comfort fit, plus the lugs on the sole
seem well sturdy also more toe protection

343 grams for a UK size 8.5 is almost exactly the same as Inov8's quoted 333 grams for a UK size 8. The bonus being the (IMHO) better upper, and for me fit.

Whilst not running on UK fells, I'm finding the as good if not better than Mudclaw grip on mud and grass with the more comfortable upper is working for me. I'm thinking that these shoes may well be the choice in circumstances where I previously might have been needing to decide between Mudclaws and Roclites, such as in muddy conditions over longer distances.

I didn't wear them at mowcop as there is at least
1 mile of road on the race and the grip just seemed too
excessive for the terrain. I wore them first time tonight
for a 6 miler ; they are very supportive perhaps a little stiff
and very grippy. whilst running I tried to think
of the ideal terrain for these shoes, which would be
the descent of Y Garn then straight up Glyder Fawr up the
loose scree paths, they would eat ground such as that.
