    Dolomites Skyrace

Has anybody done this race before? And if so where did you stay?
There are 8 of us going out to do the race this year. Any info on other activities? (via ferratas etc)
    Cheers Sam

    But you'll miss Cracoe! ;-)

There is some cracking cycling out there too.

I can't think of many places in the glove more exciting than around Canazei.

I even had a girlfriend there many years ago, old story never mind....
    I envy you.

    Hi Sam,
Depends on your budget Sam - there are loads of hotels etc. If you e mail Canazei tourist office with the dates you want to stay they will do the work for you and send enquiries to lots of different hotels. Most will just do B&B if you ask. We stayed at Hotel Aurora in Alba (about 2km up the road, but near start of Vertical Kilometer). Approx 40 Euros B&B per night
You will love the race (if they dont cut it short again like 3 out of the last 4 yrs) and you should also have a crack at the vertical kilometer

Oh I don't know. I had some pretty sexy mittens once. You should have seen them.

also there's a campsite in canazei town. me and mike stayed at a B&B hotel (called stella alpina) for one night and then stayed in the campsite for another night. We did the route of the race while we were there and some via ferrata the next day. ( I got the cicerone book from the library that had some routes and we just tried them out)

here Sam I've found the camping's website

    http://www.campingmarmolada.com/en/

    '
camping' is what the Italian's call a campsite!!

one of the other routes we did while we were on holiday in the dolomites was the tre cime - but it was quite a way from canazei near the border with austria (or was it germany?) - it was an ace holiday and at sesto (where the Tre Cime is from)we stayed at a four star luxury campsite with amethyst decorated bathrooms...and it was a campsite! amazing

    I
've just found a link to the crystal bathrooms incase anyone thought I was exagerating...
