Zed, I seem to remember buying a similar vintage (1970s) 1inch map of the Peak a couple of years ago but I've no idea where it is now :closed:

I have one framed but it was my Dad's so can't part with it, hope you find what you are looking for. I also have a Harvey's dark peak north at 1:40000 which I am going to have framed because I think they have been discontinue which is a shame as it's a great size and scale to use. If I had known they were going to stop making them I wouldn't have used it but it's in fair condition. idon't know about ironing but ihave it blu tacked to a wall to try and stretch the creases out a bit.

Grouse has got a copy of Flyfishing by JR Hartley by the way. Says he's looking to swop it for a copy of Studmarks on the Summits.

I bought a few from second hand bookshops, they aren;t that hard to find. Better are the Bartholomew maps which had a colour scheme for contours so you could pick out the shape of the land quite well. Useless for navigating though. i have a framed one at home and it's beautiful :-)
You can also buy new 'old' maps from Ordnance Survey which come rolled rather than folded.

Yes, I have two old 1" to the mile, single sheet maps of the Lake District: My Bartholomews map, dated 1965, has Steve Parr's 2,500 footers round pencilled on to it. The O.S. copy is kept with my copy of "Joss Naylor O.B.E. Was Here", it has his "All The Wainwrights in Seven Days" route pencilled on to it.
I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!
