Thumbs down A bloody scruffy pigeon

Have any other forumites noticed that garden birds are becoming fussy eaters?
There was a time that they'd be grateful for the bread crumbs and scraps that I lobbed out on to the lawn.. safe in the knowledge that they could relax and eat in a cat-free environment..

..but I notice the crusts and old Christmas cake that I put out yesterday are untouched !

...yet next door, they have loads in their garden. Robins, Blue Tits and Finches, ..all because they go overboard with their specialist nuts, bird food and other bits and pieces, all contained in those flashy cylinder things that you hang from trees.

All we get these days is a scruffy pigeon!!!

In my garden here in Salford we have a range of feeders and tables stocked with a variety of bird foods to attract different types; winter mix, fat balls, fat slabs, breakfast mix etc etc.

We are rewarded with a stream of beautiful birds that brighten our day with their chirpy chirping.

I can only surmise that you scruffy c*nts that put out mouldy old breadcrumbs get exactly the sort of flying vermin you deserve.

Danbert, you really are short of something to whinge about!! Have you no woodwork that needs painting?
if your garden was full of different species of birds, you'd be moaning that they were devastating the flowers / fruit / vegetables!!

Quite clearly modern garden birds are spoilt and soft.. 70's birds were grateful for a Sunblest crust or a bit of bacon rind.:w00t:

PS - 'Birds were happy with sunblest in the 70s until Thatcher turned them in to greedy, selfish creatures in the 80s.... only happy with fat balls and pumpkin seeds.' :w00t:

Many things have been blamed on Margaret Thatcher, but this must be a first. "Thatcher government causes devisive split in garden bird feeding habits!"

Ronald Arthur Dewhirst says there is no such thing as a free lunch and expects the birds in his garden to play tunes on a Bontempi. I paraphrase but that is the gist of what he said.

We've never had a shag in our garden.
