Thread: GPS that runs for at least 24h

GPS that runs for at least 24h

I've been thinking of getting a GPS so I can see where I've been with mapping software but I'd like it to be able to last for at least 24 hours.

Also able to do "lap times" for times at certain points or can you get a time from the tracklog on a map?

From reading other post the perfect GPS would be a forerunner 205/305 if it had a better battery life

I am not interested in navigating with it just want to use it for recording where I've been.

Has anyone any experience of using a GPS like this and what do they use?

It is a bit of overkill but I have a Venture Cx with a (claimed) battery life of 33 hours - should be good for 24 anyway.

The other thing to consider is a gps with replaceable batteries - changing batteries allows you to keep recording, after the interruption.

Do you have to press a button on it to get "lap times" or can you get times when you plot the route on a map?

    Have to manually create laps.

Although I think if you downloaded the track to SportsTracks you could get "Standard" laps (every mile or whatever) and if you downloaded into Garmin Training Centre you could get times on each summit.
