Here is a (slightly modified) ditty from Kenneth Ormiston
Pennine Pals
Here's to the fell runners of Pennine
And the memories that we share.
Of the sun, the rain, the pleasure, the pain,
In the wild terrain up there.
But it's not just the run or the weather
Or how far or how fast that we go.
It's the way that we suffered together,
That made our friendship grow.
