    George Foster. GB BG Record.

Coached by Martin Cox, and apparently has been doing well in European mountain races over the summer.

Given how I imagine the underfoot conditions, this makes it even more impressive.

George is already a club member (from 2016).

It will be interesting to see if this encourages more Brits to have a go at a really fast Round.

Well done him - clearly quite a talented chap. He should do some fell races when they're allowed again.

I think he did a fast 'Abrahams tea round' earlier in the year - something like taking ~30mins off Brenan Townshend's previous record, which, over a 4.5-5h route, and a runner of Brennan's quality, is bloody impressive.

Yep probably not spending to much time going over old ground on Forums, interesting that it was UKH that flagged it up before a fellrunning forum

So it seems this guy doesn't do many fell races and is happy to spout strong opinions on the web. Is he a forumite in disguise?

I once had the very great privilege of pacing someone (Richard Mavin, some time in the 90s) from Dumail to Wasdale with Billy. It was an education. I thought I knew it fairly well, he of course knew every rock and tussock. Chatting in the Langdales I asked him what he thought was the halfway point. His reply was classic - 'Well I got to Bowfell in about 7 hours so I suppose around about there..'.

If you haven't already - you will enjoy Steve Chilton's All Or Nothing At All. It reads as though Billy is in the room with you - and is, in my view, an accomplished work that may in time become recognised as an important and classic book about fell running in the broadest sense.
