    24 hour fisherfield round

Last week I completed a shorter version of my Fisherfield round, this time within 24 hours. I amended the route to make it more logical (and easier) with reduced mileage of just under 60 miles and 25500 feet of ascent. After a testing night and feeling pretty weary in the first half I improved and completed the round in decent shape in the end. This time Ian and Pauline Charters  gave very welcome road and bothy support which saved me carrying my food and spare clothing round. An amazing end over An Teallach pinnacles in a gale. I've written it up on my blog - http://longdistancechallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

Well done. Sounds like a cracking challenge and maybe one of the classic 24 hour rounds of the future. The 850 m ascent of Sail Mor sounds like a fun way to spend an hour and a bit.

I agree. Truly inspirational stuff. Fisherfield is my favourite area in Britain and so I now need to assemble this route onto a map.

    Thanks for inspiration John !

FWIW : I've plotted John's route onto a 1:250,000 map and dropped it into my blog.
I find it easier to comprehend how hard it actually is when I see it on a map.
I ran all of Fisherfield years ago, but this throws in Beinn Dearg, the Fannichs and An Teallach for good measure !
    Awesome stuff

Another great Round from the FMA stable - superb, John! Did you ever look at Torridon?

Thanks for the map, Alan - really helpful.
