Park near one of barns. Run along res to Castle as warm up then turn up hill ove two lads, up to mast Tur NW along road thru masts and then down to London road (track) can then either go over Rivington Pike and down to barn or more due N to Horden Stoops and B road then w to Lead mines clough then back S past Yarrow Res and back to Rivington.

LOts and lots of options on W slopes of Rivington up thru Japanese gardens etc topigeon tower and R Pike.

I've got some courses stored on Garmin connect. Don't know if they are any use to you but here are links to a few starting variously from Horrocks Fold, Johnson Fold and Belmont. If they are useful but you need a description as well, let me know.

Thanks for the suggestions Karen and Latege. I ended up doing a 'warm up' from the Barn tea room along to Liverpool Castle, then up to the tower that looks like a pepper pot on the top and back down to the car park through the remains of the Japanese Terraced gardens because my friend was stuck in traffic. We then went out together up to the top of the Pike, across to the masts, along to a cairn on top of another hill, round the quarry and back down some rather nettley footpaths to the cars. Really enjoyed it!
