I did Hanley Parkrun Travs, which is quite hilly. Does that count?😂 Great result by you at the Old Crown Round btw.

Do what you like, like what you do
Cheers fellgaz. 83.08 points scored, that's pretty solid for me.
I was reflecting today on how my relentless speed endurance training paid off at Turnslack. At the summit of the last climb i had people on my arse, Annie Hassell by the looks of it amongst others. As soon as it levelled off i was able to up my leg turnover without too much effort and get running again, which kept the chasers at bay. As soon as we hit the flat track beside the turbines i basically ran away from them, and nobody had an answer for it; they were out of earshot within half a minute. If it weren't for some sage advice from Noel a number of years ago now i'd still be lumbering along in these types of situations, and generally getting overtaken a lot, wheras on saturday i put about a minute into my persuers using only learnt behaviour. This leg speed/flat speed is definitely a key strength which i shall continue to build on.

Kevan Shand is getting a bit worried about the low number of pre-entries for this one. I am hoping to go (it's not really practical for me to get to Arenig Fawr, as I need to be back in Loughborough on Sunday morning); it will be my longest race this year. Entries available on the SIEntries site (not linked from the FRA web page for the race). A good race if you're not going round the old crown.
The course could be regarded as a less severe version of the anticlockwise Four Fans: the steep climbs and descents are in the second half, and there are tussocks.
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

Some of the tussocks are knee height, it's a sight to behold, like visiting the carboniferous period.
