Thanks for your comments. Looks like my destiny is to be average. Unless of course my genes tell me otherwise. P.s Theres nowt wrong with being average.

Think of how fit the average person is, and realise that half the population are more unfit than them.

So being a fellrunner certainly puts you well above average.

Average suits me fine.

At the end of the day, it's "only running", not a matter of life or death. Like the others in this forum, I absolutley love running on them thar hills. Taking part in races, planning routes, training etc is great fun. I'll never win a race but I'm determined to keep fit enough so as not to be last.

Being somewhere in the middle and "giving it a go" suits me fine. The taking part does count!
