Me too. It was an absolutely cracking run over leg 2, getting to Dunmail sometime around 2:30 am I think, made all the better at the roadside by Helen's much needed bacon sandwich. It was really humid coming off the tops (I was sweating like a pig on a stick) and I even had my own little flying zoo of moths, daddy long legs and other assorted bugs all flying around my headtorch coming down the side of Seat Sandal

Nice one Martyn! I was wondering how it was all going! I thought the weather was going to be horrendous! But I guess it all cleared more or less!

Back home now and the enormority of the situation is beginning to sink in. Thank you very much for all your good wishes and congratulations, but especially to all those who came out to support not only this but my first (unsuccessful) attempt.

The decision to delay 24 hours was probably one of the best I've ever made and I can state for the record that I had that Grand Day Out On the Fells, it was absolutely brilliant - the rain and clag towards the end of Leg 4 and Leg 5 didn't detract from things at all.

I am totally humbled by the enormity of the challenge, but also the kindness and generosity of the people I've met via the BGR. Thank you all

Brilliant. I had a run over Blencathra Wed morning and had to bleach my mind when BGR thoughts started creeping in
    Well done!

Pat, from what I heard conditions were (unfortunately) diabolical and he had to call it a day at Dunmail.

That was some call by you then. I was down on the Glyders (my apology to the better half!!) on Saturday and the MWIS forecast Friday evening was mixed at best. It turned out to be a fantastic day.

Really well done Martyn, I'm so pleased for you. It was a really good call to postpone. I hope you are able to rest up a bit for the next couple days!
