I am currently having physio for a calf injury and I had a setback during the treatment when I tripped while out walking and felt something go in my calf. It later stiffened up but I wasn't sure whether it was just weak from the recent injury or a new strain caused by overloading it while the rest of the calf was weak. Physio put some K tape on this new injury only and it appeared to do the trick. Its the only time during any treatment on the calf injury (still ongoing  ) that it was applied. There may have been some psychological benefit as well as physical benefit from having the tape on as I was more confident on "using" the calf muscles with the tape on as well.
