50 -60 mile race or event

Hi all this is my first post on here and I'm looking for an event that will be over 50miles any time after september and before January so if there's any you know of or any information will be great thanks.

Im hoping to do the lakeland 100 next year and need to do an organised 50+ before i can entre. I have don plenty of 40 miles unsported and the only organised event i did this year was the 4Inns 42miles which I dont think will allow me to entre

mountainboxer welcome to the forum. RRR50 is a possible. Hardmoors 60 is another option. Have a look at the Long Distance Challenges section of the forum here

Hi MB - just a thought: don't you need to get the 50 in before september? Worth checking but I thought you needed to give details of a completed 50 at the time of filling in the entry form for the UTLD 100. The entires open on sept 1st and both races seem to fill up very quickly, within a couple of weeks. Given the experience you describe I'm guessing they would be happy to let you enter anyway so may be worth an email to the RO ahead of the entry opening. I think I may be giving it a go too as a first timer so hopefully see you in Coniston :w00t:

thanks, very helpful. As pointed out in the interview it does seem strange to me quite how many 100 competitors drop out in the first 25 miles. Even allowing for the vile bog above Grassguards and crossing Black Sail and Scarth Gap in the dark you might have thought these things went with the territory and everyone should be well equipped to deal with them*
