    Wink Joe's Ramsay 29/30 August

Just in the car with IDP after dropping off Joe Mann after his successful Ramsay Round.
He finished in 23 hrs 54 mins and spent most of the round battling bad weather and beasting his supporters!

You may remember Joe as the youngest ever to complete all the Munros continuously in one go last year.

He finished in the dark on the Ben sharing a head torch with his supporter after his packed in.

A fantastic effort by all, congratulations to Joe!

well Done Joe crossing some of those ridges was a bit hairy in such strong winds. a great effort. Joe was totally spent after pushing hard in to a massive head wind on the last leg

is this possibly the youngest Ramsey ever..he's only 20 and he's got his sight on the paddy next year?

We saw one other round going the other way in the grey corries. any one know how they got on...It can't have been much fun

Yep, well done Joe (note date should be 29/30 August)! :-)

Were you supporting the clockwise round, Ian, and, if so, what happened in the end? We were with the filmed Canadian anticlockwise attempt, whose two runners split (with one going stronger than the other) after the railway bridge near Corrour and met the clockwise team going well coming off Chno Dearg as we went up it (I was with the lead Canadian), but suspect they eventually bailed south from the Mamores. Filthy on top of Chno Dearg (very wet, windy and cold), but all Sat/Sun attempts will have finished battling even worse weather heading westwards, with one of our guys stopping at Fersit and the other eventually finishing over time in just under 27 hours.

No I was with Joe going Anti Clock wise. We passed the CW team just starting the Grey corries. We also passed Nicky at the end of the Corries (CW) I think she was going to Fersit to help your attempt??

I believe Joe would have been sub 22 on a good day he is very strong. any one who got round this week end regardless of time earned their spurs.
