Altrincham & District AC are also currently Northern 5K Road Champions, Northern 10K Road Champions and Northern Cross Country Champions!
how come altrincham have such a good bunch of runners? its not the biggest of towns by some way in that conurbation yet it seems to be forever doing well in these type of events.... It reminds me of Morpeth up this way, I always wondered why they have such a strong team always, although barely any of there runners would be from Morpeth... do these clubs attract runners from out of the area because they have top coaches or their rich history?
Good day today, great facility at leigh. Course was a bit naff like, some dodgy corners to negotiate, with runners going everywhere! I noticed Keswick had a team out and carl bell was flying for them in the latter part of the relay, he was a minute or so quicker than me
RULE 6 ELIGIBILITY COMMITTEE AND EXEMPTION
APPLICATIONS
(2) The Eligibility Committee shall have the power, in any case where it
considers that the general welfare of athletes or athletics will be best served, to
make an exception to the eligibility rules. They may grant exemption, either
wholly or in part to these Rules.
(b) Where the original Club is unable to provide the athlete with adequate
competition or facilities
As I understand it, Nick is First Claim Alty and has had his first claim transfered for fell only to P&B, under Rule 6(2)(b) which allows such a move if the eleigibility committee think it is a valid and fair request.
By all means you can question whether he should have been allowed to run P&B for fell, but I would suggest it's really stretching ot to question his Alty credentials.
You're Salford aren't you General?
They know how to work the eligibility system there quite well, just like most of the top clubs. Nothing worng with that.
Todays men's 12 stage and women's 6 stage road relay championships in blackpool are off.
