    I had an overuse injury which was diagnosed as a sesamoid problem. I did the same thing with an insole and also made a raised pad to go under the other metatarsal heads in my work shoes. Took a while but It got sorted. It's also worth checking out trigger points for that area to see if the cause is referred pain from some where else. Hope it gets sorted soon for you.
