    Re: 10k Trainers

I'm usually an 8, and I'm a 9.5 in Kanadias. In the Adios I'm a 9. No consistency with Adidas sizing!!

However, the Adios is far and away the best shoe I've ever owned across the road/trail/fell board, so I don't dwell on it!!

Only ever had one pair of road race shoes!! Not sure why, possibly couldn't justify the extra cost in the old days when I raced on the road. They were Reebok PB's and very nice they were too. I did feel quicker in them, felt like racing as soon as I put them on. No use for your list tho LFF....well defunkt!!

+1 for the Saucony Fastwitch. Pro-Direct Running have them for ~£50 including P&P

Just try to ignore their comedy 'U R Losing' or 'No Brakes' slogans on the soles.

Another vote for Adidas adios 2. Will be good for marathon or 1/2 if you aren't too heavy. They run 0.5 to 1 size small though

    Re: 10k Trainers

Just ordered the Adizero Adios trainers from Sports Shoes. They did a really good deal when I spoke to them so was worth ringing them up.

Went for them over the Saucony ones partly because of my not-so-great experience with my Saucony trail running shoes (on the Peregrine thread).

Just hope they fit now ready for the Scarborough 10k at the end of October!

    Thanks for the comments.

    Re: 10k Trainers

Went for my first run in these last night. They're a little on the snug side, but that seemed to work well as they just felt really attached to my feet, if that makes sense.

Really good trainers anyway. Very pleased. Roll on Scarborough 10k

I'm currently using Adidas Adizero Mana and they seem to be a pretty solid shoe, like a racing flat but a little more substantial.

Sometimes you don't have much choice, I've used sportsshoes for years and unfortunately they have shut their retail outlet and gone web only, so if you want to try something new you either have to try and find it elsewhere and pay much more for it in another store, or have a punt online (knowing you can always send them back). Not ideal really but needs must.

Surely you need to follow this gent's example:
