Unless I find a pair for £20 probably won't be getting any more as thats all they are worth.

Just ordered a new pair of Fellcross as pretty much lived in them this year certainly 3 runs a week. Studs have now started to wear to the point that i'm loosing traction. uppers still intact...

But I recently sent a pair of Mudclaws (333's) back as the stitching on the uppers came apart after only a few runs. Also had a few problems with the old 272's but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as I was doing quite high mileage in them.

I've also had LaSportiva Crosslites (most comfortable trainers ever) and currently giving Fellcross a whirl but I haven't found anything that grips as good as the Mudclaws.
Very similar experience to me Andy.

When I first tried Mudclaws, I couldn't believe the grip... fantastic. The 333 was a BIG letdown... knackered in no time with the lace holes snapping; stitching failing around the sides and studs being ripped off the soles.

However, the 270 / 272 are great and the rate of wear is reasonable... be nice if they could keep the price down, but in my humble opinion, they are a bloody good shoe.

Then again, not everyone has the same experience or the same feet!

Crosslites? Not as grippy, but for comfort, top banana!

    Good point IDp

All the Salomon stuff I have used has been top quality.

Personally I have gone from using inov8 to Walshes. because they;-
    1. are 20-30% cheaper
    2. can be re-soled
    3. are comfy and grippy
    4. are as good as/better than inovs, for the stuff I do.
    5. are made in the UK which means; I am supporting UK manufacturing, they are not made in a sweatshop, I am not supporting an oppressive regime. Less air miles etc.
    6. retro, 'yeah baby'.
