    Re: Active rest

Just been reading "running with the Kenyans". One of many factors that the author ascribes their success to is that when the Kenyans rest (which they take very seriously) they really rest, that is they do nothing. They sit around, watch tv, sleep.

Easy runs are pointless, either train or recover, not some wishy washy inbetween activity that you're only doing because you feel guilty about not doing anything. Rest is absolutely vital, it's when your body has chance to repair and adapt, if you don't rest you won't get better.

Oh good. I could have a storming run by Sunday then!! Had a cold this week and have had some days of REST. I thought I was being soft and lazy, but perhaps not? Did cycle to work yesterday but fell off on the canal tow path on some ice so used the car today so even more rest

Does it have double effect if you drink mulled wine?

I would say that effective relax for someone who primarily operates is either easier/ shorter/ less demanding/ lower regularity operates, and/or combining that up with simple diving or simple turbo compressor classes.

A classic! Look what you can do with web crawlers and automated translation software!

I suspect the return of glen222.
