There were 40-50 of us politely lining up for the stile just after Buck Crag, when somebody ran past the whole queue and nipped over - thereby moving up from about 290th to about 250th. Shame on you, Sir. We are Englishmen, not savages!
Somebody else tried it on a bit earlier (around 200th) and got a hail of abuse. He skulked back to find his place in the queue mumbling about it not mattering if we had all jumped the fence. Of course that would have probably flattened the fence and no doubt put future races in jepardy. Hopefully the sizeable field and ever growing queue didn't mean anyone missing the cut-off at Ill Bell though - seemed a bit tight for some?

I was just over time at the cut-off because of the queue. Fortunately, the marshals were fine about it and continued to let people through.
I have to report that manners were impeccable at the blunt end of the field; a sense of unhurried decorum prevailed.

I did think that the cutoff time at ill bell was a little tight, bearing in mind I was reasonably well up the field (maybe 80th) and it took me 45mins, I did wonder about people behind me... The other cutoffs were fairly lenient though...

I think I was there in 49 minutes and would've been about 150th at that point, must have been close for a lot of the field - glad to hear there was common sense prevailing after the queue's though

Second race of the year following my reactive arthritis debacle. Its such a great route and my knee held up ok. I'm so slow and really struggle compared to last year but at least I'm making progress. Perfect day for it too and lots of lovely bogs!

Spotted a few familiar names on the start list already, and it's only 1/3rd full....!
