We are ahead of you, Pennine Fell Runners already have one. About 15 of us in it.
I see Dark Peak are there as well.

    Re: Strava: FRA club..

Can anybody explain the advantages of Strava over garmin connect please. I run every day and record all my runs - don't you have to subscribe to Strava (ie pay money) to record more than 5 runs a month? Also garmin connect can auto correct height and I'd heard that Strava doesn't and is therefore (more) inaccurate on height than garmin?

What does Strava do that garmin connect doesn't?

Basic Strava is free, you can pay for a Premium service, but it's not necessary at all. You can also get a free Strava running & cycling app if you have a smartphone or one of those Apple jobs.

The height gain is pretty close to Garmin Connect, certainly more accurate than the original Garmin measurements were.

The main advantage of Strava over Garmin Connect - which I still use - is that Strava can extrapolate sections of your run/cycle & see how you fair in a league table. Depending on how you look at it this can ruin a long run, or add a bit of spice to a run, as you try & beat your mates & climb up the table.

Presumably though you have to be running/cycling the exact same route for this to work?

These segments can be of any length and already I am appearing in league table with blokes (some I know some I do not) but run in my neck of the woods. As was said it adds a bit of fun to see how you compare to other people. I have created a few for some of the hill climbs I run near home.
