I've always understood North Britain to be up the land rover track from Arnfield farm. Agree it is a good area for running, usually quiet too.

Cheers all,
Really looking forward to this now, and being a Sunday may get a good rest on Saturday, as opposed to Ovenden where I just ran out of steam...

Bump.
Spoke to the ROs (Jason+Rach) at Parkrun this morning (what a cute little baby they have), and everyone's looking forward to this one.
Race limit (250) not yet reached with pre-entries, so EOD will be open, get there (Hare & Hounds, SK15 3ET) in good time for a number.
Terrain is essentially a typical Dark Peak BM fell race (~8 miles and ~1450' climb) and although not under FRA it's as cheap as chips (and you get a chip barm thrown in).
Come and enjoy Roadrunner's and my back yard for one day of the year (you are encouraged to go play elsewhere the rest of the year till Gravy Pud).
Seems that we are both jogging to the start from our respective houses. So you'll have at least 2 knackered runners beaten already.
For none-locals there are (TransPennine) trains to Stalybridge from Manchester and Leeds/Huddersfield/Marsden - it's then a 15 minute jog NE along the canal tow path and off it to the start in Millbrook. So if you are not committed to Cloud Nine (Congleton) this Sunday come and support this multiterrain-come-fell race instead.
More details of the race on these links. Proceeds to Oldham MRT.

Well done StevieK for first gentleman today and Sally Newman for first lady.
The sun came out during the race to compliment the 360 degree views.
Nice to meet DJ and a host of locals.
Thanks to RO and Marshalls - especially those at the trig who had to wait till the final runner came through.

And a pleasure to meet you too!
Great race, really enjoyed the variety, and just as the legs started to protest about the never ending climbs it just opened up to the most beautiful scenery which gave a massive boost before the fabled XXX descent (which wasn't too bad if you went through the heather).
Thanks to all organisers, will definitely keep an eye on future kiwi events...
