Oh it wasn't just me then? I said HTFU to myself and turned away gagging...

Can't seem to upload from my iPad

Pic doesn't do it justice, the red raw area developed after yesterdays 13 miles.

Going to podiatrist on Friday, if they tell me to stop running I'll have it removed again, it's a PITA!

Eugh!:w00t: That's pretty repulsive and compulsive viewing...unfortunately! We need a gagging emoticon.

I wish I had a photo of my toe when I lost the toenail after my first race. Funnily enough it wasn't from racing but by dropping a full bottle of wine from about six foot onto my big toe fracturing the joint and levering the toenail off at the base. I still managed to tread grapes for wine that evening with a polythene bag over my bleeding foot and half a bottle of gin and painkillers but had to go to casualty the next day. It grew back after about a year but I nearly lost it again after last year's Fellsman. It has never grown all the way to the top again though and the toenail on the next toe now grows at a very odd angle.

    The history in pics is:

This was post race, the nail was floating on a pus filled blister and stabbing my nail bed with every step of the last 50-60 miles.

Then it was whipped off by my friend (who is an A&E consultant)

I quite liked it with no nail and could run within a week of having it removed...

Yes I've had a couple of wines. This is the best thread of the month. So so bad it's funny. Sorry guys, I know it is probably really sore but where else can you get this detail lol

Toenails, Luxury!! my youngest thought I had frostbite the other week (3 black nails on my left irritatingly slightly bigger left foot), I find the fear of snagging and pulling off an almost ready to drop toenail worse than the initial pain, I just tend to trim any 'snaggy' bits off, must admit though some of these pics are horrible, fairplay to anyone still running on 'em:thumbup:

Shaunaneto and stevefoster, what a beautiful set of trotters you both have, thanks for sharing the photos - I'm going to stop moaning so much about that blister now....
