    Kirkby Gala

Who was it who said hello today as they were running past the church today? I came over to the finish after that but couldn't see you.

John Atkinson showed he's still fit by winning today. A good performance by Mark Horrocks too.

    That was me

Enjoyed the race, great views off the top.

Managed to avoid the detour that a lot of people made, resulting in my highest ever placing in a fell race

Did you have a good one?

I took one of the detours and added about 1/2 mile to the race. Just put my garmin onto the computer and can see where we carried straight on rather than turning rt.

Quite a few people went wrong independently.

Great day though, the rain held off and the views from the fell were great. Certainly be back to do this again. At least should get a better time next year!

It was a shame that some missed the turning. It certainly mixed up the result. Some good points for you though. I just couldn't stick with the pace of the first two. Me and Mark Horrocks now have two max points each, so it's hotting up for a close result this season. I just hope I can keep going. You must say hello at the next race. Are you going up to Alva? That's a great day out; well worth the drive up.

Won't be at Alva, I'm doing Wasdale next Saturday - ooh err

The next few weekends are quite busy, so not sure when our next BOFRA appearance will be, might have to wait until Farleton. Anyway, will say hello next time, now that I've worked out which one of the Helm Hill contingent is you (if Wycoller wants to give a clue to his identity I'll say hello to him as well).

Good luck for Wasdale. I should be at Farleton as it's only down the road. See you there.

Nice drop of thunder, lightning and rain you missed during seniors race Watty Hopefully there'll be a bit left for you at Skiddaw tomorrow! Have a good one!

Oh, V50's today were Adrian P, Jack H, then the redoudtable Mr Paul Harlowe!

Not sure of V45's but down the field Messrs Tusson and Throup were ahead of Mr Stick...

Pete M looked to be having a fine run too!

    Jonny B 2nd in U17 behind Ashley, then Thomas S (I think). Jack S a fine 6th.

    Ben J 1st in U12's with Robbie J 4th (I think)
...there's a hill nearby missing its fool...

Ted actually finished before the thunderstorm, but the rest of us were caught on the top.

When will it stop raining on our races?

Ted was well chuffed with his win and I managed to avoid last year's detour, but it was taped off plus marshall!
