Great race - provided you are happy being out for well 2 hours you couldn't get a better race to start out on. Simple navigation (subject to warnings above), not too steep climbs and some thoroughly enjoyable running along the edge of the plateau.

Last time I was up there was a couple of years ago after it had snowed - fantastic day!

Even I've done it in 1.41 and I'm near the back!

As a general guide I think you would expect to match your half marathon time on this race, so long as you aren't are real wimp when it comes to descending or running the Kinder perimeter.

My PB for this is much, much faster than I could ever have done for a half marathon.

A number of people from our club have said this, so there must be some correlation. Perhaps it's more from road runners who are a bit more cautious. I certainly tend to rein a few people in on the descent.

It was over 10 years ago that I did it. Is the course still the same?

My memory is a bit fuzzy so I've no idea what time I would have run!

    But a good race neverthless.

Same course, excepting you probably went to the right of Swines Back (between Kinderlow & Edale Cross), which is a bit quicker than the current route.
National Trust / Peak Park asked for this change, in an endevour to control erosion. Not sure it has made much difference, and since doing so they have flagged most of the trod/path, running to the right of SB!

I'm sure we can find your time TF.... if you care to know?

It remains an excellent race, probably the true local classic..... and all horribly "runnable"...
