    Potential Ebay Dispute

Hi, for the past 6 months or so I have been selling glasses retainers on Ebay with moderate sucess. However, I have just been contacted by a buyer today who bought two of them back on October 11th 2006 (13 weeks ago!) to say they have not received them. They are posted 1st class normal postage (stipulated in the listing) with no insurance (also stipulated) So what do you think I should do? No feedback either way has been done, they paid with Paypal. The amount was £6.70 so not a great amount, but thinking of the principle! (Also thinking of my 100% record!)

Refund their money - repsonsibility for delivery rests with the seller !!

'd suggest offering to send them another one more as a good-will gesture. When a buyer on ebay commits to buy they know that they can either take insurance (as you offered) or lose out in such cases. By offering a deal (...make sure you get a proof of postage from the post office...these cost nothing and cover you for more than £7) neither of you will feel that the other has taken advantage. 100% records are very fragile and if they refuse the compromise they'd've slated you anyhow.

Let us all know how it pans out!

Vince, do you fill in a proof of postage slip
you can then report it to the post office and you might get some compo, but perhaps more importantly the post office will look into it

but...the post office lost my complaints form ..........so keep a copy of that too

I think you should just send them another item

Just to update, I have asked for his full name, address and date he paid, just to make sure it isn't a hacker. Still waiting for an answer back.

Depends how much you value your 100% record? He doesn't really have a leg to stand on given that he's not got in touch for 13 weeks, if you aren't bothered about your 100%, tell him to take it up with PayPal - he's missed their deadline by a good way, so that should discourage him. You could risk leaving positive feedback with him in the hope he'll do the same, or save it so he knows you'll negative him back if he gives you a negative.

A quick update. They still haven't got back to me. However, new stock has now arrived so they may see them listed and try again. Perhaps they realised how long they have left it and given up?

...but would you accept a bid from them given past experience...?
