If you want to get through a stile faster, RUN QUICKER.

Next time I see it happen, I'm going to memorise some numbers and get them reported.

I shout out now if I see someone queue jumping - everyone else should too. Funny thing is I'm normally in the middle of the field so it's funny how seriously some people take it in the middle of the pack.

Didn't Cloud Nine have over 300 runners? Perhaps there's an onus on organisers to restrict numbers if there are significant bottlenecks? Does get a bit daft if the queues are too big.

Failing that the organisers should put a marshall with a clipboard by the gate/stile and disqualify offenders.

On a slightly more light hearted note on this thread, i'm reminded of a fell race I did a few years back. I was tucked in just behid Alfie Atkinson going up a hill and saw the gate ahead as a chance to pull up onto his shoulder.

However, the whippersnapper then proceeded to HURDLE the gate - I've never seen anyone hurdle a gate going UPHILL before. By the time I had climbed the gate he was gone..........

At Boar's Head it's considered stylish to bypass one of the stiles by going through the hole for dogs ;-)

Hands Up...... I was that "idiot" dog.... not that it really made any difference and only damaged my knees...

On the "Sheephole" subject..... often known as a "crawl" around Kinder... (tried to insert pic'..... and failed again!.... advice please)..

And like others a dim view is taken of those who cause any damage or try to be smart when queing is the thing to do...

What an interesting thread! Should it be renamed Gates, Stiles and all types of fence? (Planes , Trains and automobiles). On another note , i like stiles cos it means i can catch my breath . This Alfie Atkinson fella, was he nicknamed Tigger by any chance?

Anyone seen the video of the 2006 Lordstones Wainstones championship race? A high profile runner moves up from 2nd place into 1st, by avoiding the stile taken by the leader, and instead vaulting the adjacent fence.
