This is an interesting point too. Leg 2 clock-wise must be the best running on the whole round and going ACW you're taking it later on in your outing

I'd definitely agree with that DT. The thought of Halls Fell n'all on the last leg wasn't worrying me (i'd felt strong on the climbs all day and if anything my feet were feeling tender for the downhills) but not being able to scoot along that ridge line was the clincher.

Watching the tracker you were not so bad at Dunmail, how much time did you loose between there and threlkeld?
Did you pass that lady on the CW round somewhere on your leg 4?

...that's one way of looking at it, but another is to recognise Halls Fell as one of the best routes in the Lakes, bringing you up right onto the summit. Who wouldn't want to "enjoy" it at the end of a round?
    if I can't see blencathra it's raining

Lost about 80 minutes I think, although perhaps 15 minutes of that was after we'd decided to knock it on the head and take it steady coming down Clough Head. We did pass a group going the other way coming down Dollywaggon as we were going up. Couldn't tell the sex of any of them though as it was dark and pissing with rain

From watching the two trackers we were guessing you would cross on helvellyn. She had a right cockup in threlkeld, and cut it very tight at the end, seven minutes to spare.

yes I did that AC too! another tough finish, but nice in a way to finish on the ben, or it would be if it weren't for the descent.
