Good race today, but a real tough one for my first mountain race. Found the going up to the summit difficult and the decent tricky to say the least. Good run Daleside, I followed you most of the way down the hill, you ran really strongly. Manhar nice to have chat with you today, well done on your run as well. Gaz had a stomping 40th placing - it was worth the 250 mile round trip mate!!

.....and a spot prize to go with that place.

Great day out with really good organisation. Many thanks to all involved.

    Cheers

My longest and highest fell race yet and only a week after the Windermere Marathon but a great day out. Whether climbing over big rocks or having the smaller ones sliding under my feet, it was really hard going. I was sure that I would miss the cut off but then I was approaching the summit and hadn't even noticed the checkpoint. Coming down was harder in a way and I went flat on my face in the woods but finished very strongly back on the road.

Great butties and scones at the finish.

Many thanks to Manhar for picking me up and dropping me back in Bolton.

A lovely day out but then I guess we were lucky with the weather but I think I'll leave it to the experts in future.

Cracking race, had a really good run except for dodgy blisters. Widdy were you the one in the Rochdale vest that i passed on the road out?
I run for near rivals Rossendale. Sky blue vest.
    How did you get on?

Thought I saw the Rossy vest. To be honest I was happy to get round in one piece, not really my cup of tea, but enjoyed it all the same. I think I was in the last third of the field of 200 with a time over 2 hours 10 mins. Prefer races which have some good running across the tops rather than straight up and down. How did you do?

    Well done all.

Really enjoyed the day, and what a friendly race! I'm glad to say we made the cut off in plenty of time, but overall were slower than I anticipated. But we actually weren't last (though I think we were 3rd and 4th from last). But hey, someone has to be at the end of races, and we had a super day out

Thanks to all the other runners who gave us plenty of encouragement and kind words as they hurtled past us on the way down.
I think I'll walk this bit....
