Mine are only usually brown after I've worn them.

Surely these are one of the many casual models made in Italy and not for running at all?
I was also suspicious about this, people selling off-road shoes usually post a photo showing the sole. I hope someone doesn't get aan unpleasant surpirise.
Why should people be selling brand new shoes on Ebay?
One explaination is that the seller purchased the item without first making sure that their feet fitted the shoes.
If you want to buy shoes by mail order or on ebay then I suggest you find the same shoes in your local sports shop and make sure that it fits first.

I got 3 pair from TK Maxx last year, 1 similar to pic. above, 1 orange leather & 1 light cream leather. Great for posing or casual use but couldn't use them on the fells!! (Paid £10 for orange ones and about £12-13 for others).
These shoes are fashion shoes and not fell running shoes. I did the Duddon in a pair I bought in Brighton that were on sale cheap. Pete Bland laughed when I asked him why they caused me so much grief. Don't buy them unless you have a nice pair of brown cords that match.
