Leg2 there's Brownrigg Well just near Helvellyn, and sometimes a trickly stream crossing the path at the back of Grisedale Tarn
Leg4 you've got Black Sail Pass and Beck Head
Leg5 you've got Scope Beck and the farm shop in Little Town (if open - also does ice cream!)

Excellent got all those marked on the map. Is there anything before the Clough Head climb?

you can use the stream down on the right after Newsham, but I'd just stock up at Gate Gill just before Threlkeld

Pat, a couple of hundred yards East of Sticks Pass there is a spring which then flows downhill right of the path. We once bivvyed here and water (and view on a clear morning) is excellent

Another good water source is near the sheepfold marked bield due South of Great End. Check out Wainwright's route up GE - the main tourist route up towards Scafell Pike goes over the stream

Pat, surely your support crew at Threlkeld would have some water? Hardly any need, even on a hot day, to replenish before you are on the ridge.

Leg 1 I will be OK as I know I have a river have way around.
leg 2 I cannot think of anything on Leg 2 before Grisedale Tarn is that correct or is there access before that?
Leg 3 There must be something before High Raise/Sargent man. Is there?
Leg 4 That must be very dry, is there water available somewhere?
Leg 5 Likewise I cannot think of anything near Honister.
Bob, Pat's doing a two day recce

    Ah - missed that.

Pat - start at a sensible time and get some "refreshment" in one of the establishments (wink, wink) in Threlkeld.
