Junior Do

As ever, we look to celebrate the years Championship with a get together for all those who took part (including U8s and U10s) and award the years Championship Trophies. As last year, this years do will be kindly hosted by Rossendale Harriers at Marl Pits, (Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall, Lancashire BB4 6DF) on Saturday 20th July.

Again it will have a training camp feel and be about –

- Having some fun and getting to know other runners a bit better
- Have a coaching/training session with an FRA coach
- A presentation from a top runner
- Learning and practising some new skills (vital for running on the mountains & fells)
- Presentation of 2013 FRA English Junior Championship trophies, collect t-shirts & hoody’s
- (remember, 4 races = t-shirt, all 6 races = hoody AND t-shirt)

Programme for the Day

10.00 – Arrival, introduction
10.15 -Into groups with a coach, training/coaching session, technique inputs with feedback
11.30 –Guest presenter
12.00 –Race to space. Felix Baumgartner parachuted from the edge of space, 129,000ft in 4m 19 secs. How long will it take for juniors to climb that??
13.15 – Lunch
13.45 -Input on next years fixtures, International stuff, training camps, U20 transition input, etc.

14.00 -2012 FRA Junior Championship Individual and team presentations

14.30 – Finish/depart. But I’ll be available for any coaches/parents who wish to chat.

Ordering on this site will cost £1. Please state the size you require as well as your name, there is a cross check against Championship results. Your brand new t-shirt and/or Hoody will then be available to be collected at the junior do.

In order to ensure your order can be delivered to the do, the closing date for ordering will be midnight on –
- Tuesday 16th July -
If you miss out on this deadline we cannot guarantee your top will be at the do, however it can still be ordered and delivered to you (own p&p).


If you cannot make the do don’t worry, your award can be posted to your address, however, but will require postage & packing

Bum bags

These are an increasingly essential piece of kit for Fell Running. When packing for a race, putting a bum bag with a waterproof top in a kit bag should become standard for junior fell runners, like shin pads for a football match or spikes for a track race.

To that end, the FRA have subsidised a special deal with Pete Bland Sports for bum bags and these will be available at the junior do.

Normally £25 RRP reduced to £5 on offer to juniors who have participated in a Championship race. See me on the day.
