    Help - torn muscle

    Calf muscle been twinging for a couple of weeks so been taking it easy.

    Big race yesterday and my calf was in agony. Still is today.

    Think I've torn a muscle.

    Trouble is, going away at end of week then when I come back I have a big race that I don't want to miss.

    So if I haven't got time to see a physio anyone got any suggestions for what I can do to help recovery?

    Join the club - my calf stiffened up (and is still sore) in a long race today. Some sort of strain I think.

    The basics are RICE - rest, ice, compression, elevation. So get that ice pack on it ASAP.... in fact, that's what I need to go and do now.

    I wouldn't race too quick though if it doesn't feel right. A minor injury might heal in 2 weeks, but I think that is optimistic. There are plenty more races in the calendar!
