    Italian lakes.

Does anyone have any experience of running around the northern Italian lakes ? I'm off to Lake Orta for a wedding and would like to get some miles in while I'm there, from google earth it looks ideal but can't find any references to runnable tracks or decent mapping.

Use the Italian Alpinist Club's signed walking routes, as Ian says, very well signposted. You can get a good map locally. The Kompass ones are good, it is what I use for MTB-ing.

not exactly, but we returned fro the dolomites and used strava to find the local routes for fell running and MTBing.
