We figured that if it gets too bad we can just cut it short anyway. Which is what most people did last time
Yep, I reckon that's the best thing about the score format for this event. It's not just planning and executing your plan, it'll be continuously assessing where you are and how much you have in hand to see whether you keep going or bail out.
I think the linear courses will be a lot tougher in that respect if the weather's dodgy. The difficult choice then is in deciding to stop and then having to choose either to return to base and DNF or to use your kit to weather the worst of the night and finish in the morning, as several successful teams did on the 2013 event.

There were only 6 teams that completed the linear courses this year, 4 Elite and 2 A. Nobody finished C or D. And that's with the bad weather courses! Whereas 18 out of 21 finished Score - we managed to come in 4th (1st mixed) simply by sticking it out for longer than most!
Lots of sound decision making on the hill that night.
Looking forward to a repeat in 2014 - ideally with cloudless skies and nice crisp neve
