In the Lancashire Evening Telegraph over the next week 17 local good causes are being voted on for a slice of Big Lottery cash.
To vote, readers have to fill in the original slip from the paper, so I can't scan and copy to cheat I'm afraid
But if you buy a paper I would be grateful if you would consider filling in the slip and voting for No10 Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team.
RPMRT provide event first aid for us at BBH several times per year. They are 100% voluntary and they are the only such organisation that hasn't gone corporate and so will accept a donation from us, which keeps our costs down.
We always try to give them something and raised £300 for them at the February Trail relays, but for many small local fell races they cover them free of charge which allows the organisers to keep these races going and maintain low entry fees for the runners.
They also provide emergency cover all year round for any of us running, mountain biking or walking on the hills.
It may be that one of the other charities involved is close to your heart. That's understandable. But if you do not have a particular preference perhaps you will lend your support to the Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team.
If successful, the funding will be used to replace their Search Control Vehicle.
I know there's many from the Lancs telegraph area here on the forum, so hopefully we can help them out.
