It helps enormously Fellhound and confirms the conclusion I came to when talking to someone about it at the weekend....I'm going down Little Narrowcove!

Here's another photo showing the big cliff you need to avoid

Oh and also a very nice line for descent

Little Narrowcove is further right between the ridge in sunlight and the one in shadow.

I would guess the direct route might save as much as 10 minutes.

Mrs BGSec and I had the immense good fortune to catch ydt and his partner on the final climb to Scafell Pike last year and he kindly lead us off on the direct line. For once, my timing was impeccable.

3 previous attempts to recce the line had been stymied by thick mist and rain.

It isn't as rough as it looks and as you might think.

Could I find the line again; I would guess yes, because there are some very clear features that need to be passed en route.

Especially when the hard rain starts a fallin'.

    Thanks Dave B.

My Luddite tendancies preclude using any GPS/mapping gubbins - just map and compass for me. However, the other link (thanks blencathrafrommykitchen) and race reports from the nym.ac website have settled my nerves. If there is anything I can download (free) to view your zip, then let me know?

I am pleased it is hard, hard race, rain or none!
Any of you off to the 3 peaks on Saturday? Perhaps you can give me a little more encouragement/tips then.

    Cheers
    Louis

Just discovered entry forms on my desk. Hopefully can enter on the day?
Anyone else doing it this year?
