In fact the storm's lightning strikes killed several Long Horned cattle just over the back of those hills in the picture.

Interesting how the storms only made the news once they hit the south east this morning.
Smashing picture there Andy. I think there is a name for that kind of lightning, where the charge is moving to an area of unequal potential and not discharging to earth. I've spent a week learning about how to contain ignition sources and prevent electric arcs; that's one arc no amount of boring legislation could contain.
