Sat phones... yay! To hell with old radios😉
Your health is questionable and you are not safe, even with tortoises. Inducted enough????

You mean I can run naked ? This is excellent news. What a sport !
I stand corrected re: route choice. I shall have a good bumble about in the weeks beforehand.
Bracken won't be an issue. An accidentally dropped dog end will see to that.
Power to your elbow, Wheeze.
Run as you like old chap. Just be aware that I shall be inviting official FRA observers to the event. So, if you don't want to feel an uncomfortable 'breeze' I would advise you to gird your loins...at the very least!!

Great news! Been to Hay school today and was very well received.
Aug 9th is fine with them, so the race is go, go, GO!
Will be contacting the team over the weekend to start pulling everything together.
A few more tweaks and the website will go live.
Anyone gonna try the route over the BH weekend?

Just got off the blower, to mr Wheeze himself.
Wants me to say to all you good folk that SteamBunny is now open for business. Check in your diaries for August 9th
Now please take a look at the website here:
Take a look at the ethos and approach. Route maps are there to try it out.
If interested online entry is open for the first 100 (actually 99 one has just gone!!) who apply.
Wheeze is asking for two AL completed in the last two years as an entry qualification, and anyone entering will be asked to give evidence of that if they enter. So anyone wanting to offer other experience contact wheeze before entering on the contact form provided.
Wheeze is trying a lot of technology, including trackers and satphones, and having to recoupthat on a small field this time, so the price is higher than he would prefer for this first year. But he hopes it does not put anyone off.
Any problems contact organiser @ steambunnybluff.co.uk
Problems with the site or entry: admin @ steambunnybluff.co.uk
So what is the difference in ethos?
-There are no marshalled summit checkpoints - dibbers are used.
-You are not told what to carry or wear, sufficient experience is demanded for you to be able to take that decision on the basis of conditions:
-There are safety refuges at the remote parts of the course in relatively easily found positions at low level for those having problems.
-Trackers hopefully allow Wheeze to see anyone going massively off route, or see if any have stopped to allow a decision on whether to call out.
So in short, Wheeze will not DQ you for going round starkers, but the local constabulary might have something to say: apart from which pinning a dibber on might bring tears to your eyes!

Fantastic! The online entry system works!! Thanks Mr AI.
You never really know until you set something up if it will work. Anyway, SBB now has its first bona fide customer.
So, roll up, roll up. All those who have chafed against the bit of increasing rules or intrusion into what YOU decide is the appropriate way to equip yourself for a long race, then this race is for you.
I am limiting this first running to 100 willing guinea pigs and welcome feedback, ideas, suggestions.
lets get it on!
