Top 10..
Bogle
Whiteside
Northrop
Fallas
Bailey
Jebb
Bowie
Roberts
Addison
Donelly M
All very close, less than 1 min in top 10.. hell of a run by Northrop and Bowie, has Neil pulled a run like that out before?
Same too with Jon Bowie.. he's ran well before but that seems a big step up.
Nic Barber. Downhill Dandy
I spoke to Rob and he was 1st to top but having only arrived late last night had not had time to recce so in the pea soup dropped into wrong gully!
Looks like this race will not count in the overall British title now!
You mean it may have little bearing on the British..
Results are up super-quick!
Why wouldn't the results count? I thought navigation was part of fellrunning?
Should have phrased it a bit better!
Of course the results stand and some great results for those who could use their navigational skills. As the British is best 3 from 4 races most of the challengers for the title will not want to include this result as one of their best 3!
Interesting read (post-race posts). I've been following today given that we had more than a handful of club runners attending (Gloss).
The fell purists might say (and I hasten to add I'm a relative novice not a purist) that it could get wildly interesting if one other of the 4 races happened to have conditions on the day that elevated 'nav' talent to a similar level of importance as run of the mill (ubiquitous) 'ascending' and 'descending' talent. Just an observation. I note our top club runner (finisher) would have not thought such an position possible in a clag-less race. Good on her!
It's all in the wording, maybe they should include witton park in the British champs next year to avoid the nav issues. Hmmmmm
