    Positives of veggies

Im not looking for a magic pill nor a way to avoid a sensible running programme (currently 3-5 days 30mile) but im getting annoyed at the amount of niggling injuries i keep getting even after 5 years of consistent running (knee, foot, tendon, ankles)and I wonder if my diet could make a difference. I struggle with the "5 a day" (more like 2 if im lucky) and wonder if anyone has seen any benefits or changes with a high veggie diet?

Even as a vegan I'm dubious of anyone who says that a high-veg diet has any magical benefit over and above a 'normal' diet. It works for some people more than other.

However, a diet high in veg is also no hindrance to running well. So I'm told.....

Well it stands to reason that to be healthy (never mind run well) you have to eat a balanced diet and a balanced diet does include a good amount of veggies/fruits. Like your mam said "eat up your veggies - there good for you".

If you struggle to eat enough fruit+veg because of a hectic work/life schedule you could think about having a nutritional shake like Vega One for example in the morning. Mind you 'real' veggies are cheaper.

Mick - you're a man after my own heart - eating and running are my 2 favourite things.
This BG round & the training therein is dedicated to the fond memory of Daz H - there is no such word as can't.
