Quite fancy it Rhys but it's the first of the Dark Peak BG weekends.

So has the start moved Rhys?

Do we not have to slog up the road any more? How I used to love that!

Just wait until you slog up the side of Knott Rigg by the route shown on the map.

Or will we still go up the path?

Hats of to Rhys for taking this on. Lets hope it gets the support.

Best descent in a fell race?

Trying this one for the first time, looks a cracking route, can't believe there's only fifty entered so far, mines been in for months! - Hopefully

Ha ha! That is probably because everyone knows how hard this race is!

Hiya Colin, this is a brilliant race and the only reason I can think of for the slow uptake is the Calderdale relays the day after. The relays usually attract numbers reaching 1000. Bet Buttermere still fills up though.

I am doing it for the first time, am a little wary as I am slow and always at the back. Was planning a reccie tomorrow, but if weather like it is here in Harrogate I may leave it till another day as I want to make sure I clear on the route and doing it in the clag is probably not the best move.

The navigation isn't too hard you run up a bloody great hill drop down cross a river/stream up Causey Pike and along the ridge line all the way back to Buttermere.

The best bit to reccie is the final descent - you can go a bit wrong there and miss the best line.
