    Snowy Scottish mountains

Film scheduled for transmission on The One Show, Wednesday 19th, featuring the Godfather of Mountain Rescue, Hamish MacInnes. Slightly off topic for fell running but the snowy mountain scenery is lovely and the man who wrote the book on mountain rescue will surely have a place in our hearts.
As you'll see, there wouldn't be much running up Ben Nevis at the moment.

I didn't spot a helipad but the garden is certainly big enough....and his view, as you will see, is just awesome. Lovely fella too. We feature the ice axe and the MacInnes stretchers....in true One Show style (i.e briefly).

Did you see my film about Ilam Rock Ian?

I agree Ian, he knows how to design a good axe - I still have and use a 1970s McInnes peck - the shorter 'gully' version, its on its third or fourth leash at least, numerous new layers of tape on the shaft and its so versatile that I've never found another axe I wanted to change it for.

no I haven't, is there a link to it.

I suspect that his heli pad disappeared years ago. There is a proper one now in Glen Coe I'm sure.
I was once interviewed for BBC1 breakfast TV from the Clachaig many years ago during a spate of
    rescues one very snowy winter.

Hamish may not be transmitted tomorrow night after all. Will let you know when it's due.
