    Scott Jurek BGR

Any news on Scott Jurek BGR attempt today?
I know he started at 3.10am and was going strong up Steel fell, then not heard anything further...

Best I get my skates on if that is how long it took a runner of his calibre!

Weather has been pretty good, perhaps a nav' error could have slowed then, Still it matters not now they are in the BG club.

    Well done to them.

Depends of course if they wish to join, not everyone does.

They are, I believe, the first Americans to do the round. These are also the first rounds of this year unless someone has slipped under the radar.

But just think how many runners can now claim to be faster than Scott Jurek. Even me for flip's sake

That Western States 100 they keep going on about must be a peice of P1ss compared to the BG then Splatcher, fancy popping over and having a crack?

I remember reading about another top American attempting a winter round and pulling out at Wasdale, sounded very tough going mind.

apparently one of them said it was harder than the Western States....

As for Americans doing the BGR: this guy lives in the States, not sure of his nationality, though...and he didn't complete it!

    A great read that.

"the grade really wasn't that steep either. Are these northerners a bit soft in the head? And then we approached Skiddaw ridge ... and all hell broke loose."

    Made me chuckle that did
