it is said that if you want to have a good race, do one the day before. I always did better on day 2 in mountain marathons.

Did 4th race in 5 days today at Lothersdale which was my 25th race of 2017! Don't reckon I'll get to 100 like Darren but I should manage at least 50 this year!

    Hi Will

It looks like you've the racing bug.

A word of warning: it can become very addictive. Here's a run down of my last few years-

    2010- 42 races 5 fell
    2011- 86 races 64 fell
    2012- 101 races 91 fell
    2013- 126 races 121 fell
    2014- 115 races 113 fell
    2015- 102 races 95 fell
    2016- 119 races 101 fell
    2017- 38 races 30 fell

    Go smash the 100 mate.

    God damn the pusher man

I hit the magic 100 in 2014. Eased off a bit since then though...
As addictions go, fell running is a BELTER.
Darren, you look like you enjoy it more every year.
    Brilliant.

Eh up Andrew, I hope you're well

Couldn't make Lothersdale as I was working nights.

Maybe next year? I've not done it for a few years.

    Cheers Darren

Looks like 2013 was your biggest year. I actually got to 50 races that year (mostly fell) but I don't think I had reached 25 races by May in 2013.

Not sure whether it's possible for me to do 100 as I work Saturdays and have to book holidays around the big races I want to do! I race most Sundays but won't be able to do many doubles.

Haven't done any Parkruns yet this year but my hours might be changing to a 12pm start on Saturdays so I could do a Parkrun before work! Can they be added to my total?

The main thing is to keep enjoying your racing....in whatever form it takes: fell, trail, xc, road, park run etc

Each year the races i do are mainly on the fells because that's my passion.

    Happy racing Will.
