    First race suggestions

    Hi guys

Decided to get some running done, after an unproductive climbing season last year. So have been running since October, averaging 10-12 miles a week and really enjoying it. Although I think my enthusiasm probably outstrips my ability!

Ideally I'd like to have a bash at a race this year, something relatively gentle around the West Yorkshire/Lancashire areas. Any suggestions?

    What are you doing tomorrow?

The next Kendal Winter League is on Sunday the 14th at 12.00. It's just off junction 37 of the M6. Hopefully not too far from you. Its ideal for a new starter; 3 miles or so, not too much climbing, flagged all the way so no navigation needed. Races for kids too. Youngest runners are 9, oldest are over 70. You'd be most welcome.

Due to do 70 mile clubrun (cycle) tomorrow but if it is a very wet day I may do 90 mins on my turbo trainer then pop along for this race.

Mentioned elsewhere but any of the races at Penistone Quarry near Haworth are ideal for fairly fit beginners.

Next one is Stanbury Splash on 28th Jan - just be prepared to get very muddy.
