Does this race visit Moel Arthur or Penycloddiau first? Also which way does the Penycloddiau loop go, clockwise or anticlockwise? Not done it before but looks good combining a decent length run with a tour of a couple of historical sites at the same time

    Hello....

It's PYC first, and you climb gently along the lower, contouring path to the summit before an enjoyable blast down the Offa's Dyke path to Coed Llangwyfan Car Park. Thereafter, crossing the road and beginning the fairly short, but pretty sharp climb up to MA summit, then it's straight off and downhill all the way :-)
It's an interesting route with some really fast, runnable sections..

I agree Harry. That final 4 miles 1200' descent from Moel Arthur was brilliant. Thanks to all.

Would love to have been able to make this. Could someone please post a route desc so I might go and do it as a training run? Sounds great. Thanks

    Hi Mark

Map of route is here, the loop bit goes clockwise with Moel Arthur being the last peak, which is where I marshalled last year for the first running of this - couldn't make it this year as we're in Australia. I think some folk might not have bothered looking at this as it's down as a CM but that's because there's a bit of road in it - but there's plenty of climb and off road, not to mention the views if you've got time to take a look!

(And if Harry Moon likes it it must be OK!)
